“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9
1. Repentance — Returning to Right Order
Acknowledge the Truth — Real order begins when we stop hiding and start being honest with God. Call your sin what it is. Truth brings light and light brings restoration. (Proverbs 28:13)
Have a Contrite Heart — God is not looking for religious responses, but a genuine, humble heart. Be broken over what broke Him. (Psalm 51:17)
Turn to God — Repentance is a change of mind that leads to a change of direction. Turn away from sin and return to God’s ways. (Acts 3:19)
Receive God’s Forgiveness — When we repent, God forgives completely and restores our relationship with Him. (1 John 1:9)
Walk in Obedience — Repentance without change is regret. Stay committed to living in alignment with God’s will. (John 14:15)
2. Forgiveness — Releasing to Restore Peace
Choose to Forgive — Forgiveness is a decision, not a feeling. Choose to release the offense and let go of bitterness. (Ephesians 4:32)
Break the Chains of Offense — Unforgiveness keeps you bound to the past. Forgiveness sets you free to move forward. (Luke 17:3-4)
Restore Where Possible — Forgiveness opens the door for restoration. Seek peace, make amends, and rebuild trust. (Matthew 5:23-24)
Pray for the Person — Lift those who hurt you in prayer. It shifts your heart from pain to purpose. (Romans 12:14)
Release & Let God — You don’t need to carry what God has already covered. Release it and trust God to handle the rest. (1 Peter 5:7)
Repentance restores our relationship with God. Forgiveness restores our relationships with others. Order returns. Peace returns. Purpose returns.
