Testimonies of the Week: Never Lay Down, Your Story Is Not Over

Testimonies of the week - never lay down, your story is not over

Real men. Real struggles. Real testimonies. Real hope. This week, three men from the Men Unfiltered brotherhood shared their stories. Heal, not revenge. Accept it, and keep walking. Never lay down — your story is not over.

I lost my job — twice. A 25-year relationship ended. My best friend and my father passed away. I had to move to another city — all within 12 months. The darkest year.

10 years later, I am living some of the happiest days of my life.

At 63, I lost everything. My wife divorced me after 31 years. I lost my business, sold my house, carried a large amount of debt, and even had to leave my dog behind. I walked out with nothing.

2 and a half years later, I was debt-free and financially in a good place. Never lay down.

My bounce back has been taking sooooooooo damn long. 5 years after the carnage and now my marriage is over. Trying to figure out how to thrive, be a present father, lead my company, and not go crazy. 2 steps forward 3 steps back is how it feels.

When Pain and Darkness Are Unbearable, Remember:

Seek help — spiritual or otherwise. Stay in touch — don’t isolate yourself. Engage in healthy self-care. Trust that you are stronger than you know.

This too shall change. You may be down, but you are not finished. You may have lost much, but you have not lost your purpose. You may have fallen, but get up again. “The righteous may fall seven times, but they rise again…” — Proverbs 24:16
